Dirty Mouths, Bad Calls And A Must Win

Drama!!! That is what the Sox game had tonight. A pitcher who was all over the place early on. An umpire with an inconsistent strike zone. So inconsistent that the team who was visiting from the lopsided calls in the zone were commenting on the unevenness of the strike zone. Ejection of a catcher for saying “golly gee fizz” and a manager defending his guy. Eventually, the drama would settle down and the Sox would win the game by a final of 5-4. Of course, there was some drama in the final outs, but they finally got it done. You can read the box score here. But sometimes, a picture can tell you a thousand things more.

Forty one pitches for one inning. the FIRST inning.

man on. try to keep him close to maybe get 2?

Kyle Seager greeted by teammates after putting them up 3-0 in first inning

Just calm down. It’s still early.

Still trying to get them out

Blake Beavan cruising along

That was a strike?

Goodbye, AJ!

you know what, you too Robin!

What? Do you even KNOW what a strike is?

Calm down Robin and go enjoy the game from your office

Oh hey! I CAN call a strike on a Mariners batter

Here is what we are going to do . . .

Thanks Jose! You’re done for the night

Look! I can get a win on one pitch!

I’m tying this game up!

Ok, thanks for playing Blake!

Help us Charlie!

So, I’m gonna catch this pop up by Gordon Beckham. hehehehe

My turn to do some work

I can do this! Bases loaded thanks to Thornton. I’ll put us back ahead. or not . . .

Sorry John, but you will pop out. My facial hair commands it

Thanks for playing Charlie

I don’t need this game any closer. I have to get some insurance.

Dammit! It hits off the wall for a double.

That’s right! I’m laying down a bunt to move Rios to third base.

And I got mad bunting skills! Rios is at third and I got a hit. Booyah

Thanks for playing Josh

Alright, time to finish this. And I promise not to do what I did Friday night. Of course, I hardly had any time to warm up on Friday nor did I expect to pitch.

*&^#!!!

Can’t believe I gave up that home run. At least we had an insurance run and it was a solo shot to Kyle Seager this time

And that’s a White Sox winner!
