It was a nice cool night. At least cool for August. Unlike last year around this time, things were not conspiring to make me crave hockey. No, this year, there is labor uncertainty as the CBA is currently being negotiated and whether there is going to be a season is in doubt.

No matter as it was Blackhawks Night on Monday August 20, 2012 at the Cell. This time, aside from the usual broadcasters for the Hawks and a couple of older ambassadors, Coach Joel Quenneville was in attendance. Also current Blackhawks forwards Dave Bolland and Jamal Mayers. Things seemed a bit subdued. Maybe because there wasn’t the excitement of a new players like last season when Dan Carcillo was signed to the team. In any event, it was going to be an interesting game since the White Sox were facing the Yankees.

In the game, Coach Q threw out a ceremonial first pitch to Chris Sale. Maybe Q played baseball in his past life as he threw quite a good one to  Chris. For more pictures from Blackhawks Night, be sure to visit my Flickr.
