A Rare Series Win For White Sox In Kansas City

Yes, you read that right. The White Sox got a series win against the Royals by winning the rubber match by a 2-1 final. In Kansas City. Of late, the Royals have owned the Sox in KC and haven’t not made it easy for the Sox to pick up wins.

Chris Sale was quite good today. This despite giving up a season-high 10 hits in the game. He did go eight innings today and walked no one. In the outing, he only gave up one run. Fortunately, his teammates gave  him two runs of support and that was all that was needed.

All in all, the Royals did pick up 11  hits today. Addison Reed came on in the ninth inning to finish the game and he gave up a two-out single to Salvador Perez. Luckily, Reed got Chris Getz to ground out to The Cuban Missile to end the game.

It really was nice to see the well-pitched game on both sides of the field today. It kind of had me thinking about what the future may hold when the Royals finally get some legitimate starting pitching.

The Sox are now off to Boston to face the Wrong Sox. There are already strange things afoot with Mr. Consistently Inconsistent having had an MRI on his arm over the weekend. Gavin Floyd was supposed to start Monday’s opener in Boston, but he is experiencing some forearm tendinitis. Whether he will actually start any of the games in Boston remains to be seen. However, it does make things interesting on the rumor front as Zack Greinke AND Francisco Liriano have been mentioned as potential starters the Sox may go after before the non-waiver trade deadline.
