Resilient Lightning Snap Losing Streak in Sunrise

What a ping pong match.

Neither team trailed by more than two goals as both teams filled the net.  The Lightning were able to tie it at 5 with 10 seconds left on a Teddy Purcell wrist shot.  Benoit Pouliot put in a rebound from the backboards to win it for the Lightning in overtime — snapping a six game losing streak in the process.

Notes:

- Congrats to Alex Killorn on his first career goal!  This young man has a bright future ahead and I don’t think he’s going back to Syracuse this season.

- Every member of the top six had a point tonight. Pouliot, St. Louis, Purcell and Stamkos had multiple points.

- Marc-Andre Bergeron came in and played well, picking up an assist on the game winner. I’d like to see him stay for a few games at the expense of Brian Lee, not Keith Aulie.

- The time to get rolling is now. See you Tuesday when the Leafs are in town!
