As you may remember, the Lightning debuted a website called 20 Years Of Thunder a few weeks back right before the NHL draft. We all tuned in to see the debut of the anniversary season logo above. Not content with waiting until hockey is played to begin the celebration, the site is officially active in a big way.
Fans can scroll through landmark events from the past 20 years in franchise history and even watch the moments for themselves. Some of the memories include comments from Lightning alumni and other big figures surrounding the team. From there, they can vote to rank the top moment in team history so far.
This is when it gets personal. After voting, you can add some of the events to your own Facebook timeline. Starting in September, we can add our comments about everything from the Stanley Cup victory to Vinny Lecavalier’s drafting on the website.
Make sure you get to voting, Bolts Nation. Top moment voting will go on until August 15th and will be replaced with another category. This is a fantastic trip down memory lane and one definitely worth taking.
The Lightning continue to be at the forefront of technology and accessibility for their fans and it’s really exciting to be a part of. If there is a season in the fall, it’s hard to imagine the other surprises in store for the anniversary celebration.
