Warning: today’s Midweek Muscles pick might be a bit more adorable than you are used to. That’s because this week, I picked the U.S. National team’s absolutely cute half-Norwegian, Mix Diskerud.

So, I’m going to tell you this up front so you’re prepared. This week might be a little lacking on the muscles showing, (seriously, I think I’ve got one). But I’ll tell you what it won’t be short on – adorable smiles and fantastic hair. Because while Mix is a promising talent for the U.S., he’s also got a contagious smile and really great hair. Come on, just look at him! How can you not smile when you see him!

Now, Mix has been on our MLS radar recently due to the rumors he would be heading to the Portland Timbers, led by new coach Caleb Porter – Mix’s coach during this past year’s stint on the USMNT’s Under 23 team. That rumor seems to have fallen dead (or has it?) so for now, this 22-year-old midfielder will stay with Norwegian club Rosenborg B.K. As for the national team, his future looks pretty good. Jurgen Klinsmann seems to think he has potential and after his last-minute tying goal against Russia, I think it’s safe to say, the kid will continue to appear on the roster.

Which I know a few of us won’t mind at all!
