Has anyone noticed how quiet it’s been in the NHL recently? I mean other than the doom and gloom talks of a lockout due to CBA negotiations. Leave it to the Flyers to change that as this news broke late last night:
SAY WHAT??? For those who don’t know, while offer sheets are allowed in the NHL they are generally frowned upon. The whole “gentlemens agreement” not to “steal” players from another team. Guess Paul Holmgren either didn’t get that memo or decided he didn’t care.
Rumor is the Predators were working on a trade with the Rangers, Flyers, Sharks and Red Wings being possible destinations. Not sure if this means that Weber wants to leave or the Predators were keeping all options open. Either way, we will be hearing MUCH more about this over the next week. For all up to date information keep an eye on Hockey Tonkin’ (Preds) and It’s Always Icy on Broad Street (Flyers).
