Braves to host Cardinals in Inaugural Wild Card Play-In in Atlanta Oct. 5

The Atlanta Braves may have lost Monday and Tuesday in their regular season final against the Pittsburgh Pirates with one game to go, but fortunately for the Braves they clinched a playoff berth last week.

The only game set in stone for the 2012 MLB Playoffs is the NL Wild Card Atlanta Braves will host the 2nd place Wild Card team St. Louis Cardinals at Turner Field on Friday.
The Cardinals wrapped up the 2nd Wild Card position Tuesday night with the Los Angeles Dodgers being eliminated after a loss to the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday.

Apparently, St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright and others did not like he was the Braves celebrated their playoff clinch last week. The reigning World Series Champions are don’t seem to pleased about backing into the playoffs again. But isn’t that their fault? Being salty and playing a play-in game away from your beloved Busch Stadium might be why.

By the way, the Cardinals after they clinched, celebrated with a little bubbly themselves. I guess no one is too big to pop bottles.

Update: Both St Louis and Atlanta have announced their Friday starters: 16-3 Kyle Lohse for the Cards and 10-1, Mr. 23 straight Kris Medlen for the Braves.
