Poor Detroit.

They were so excited to sweep the Yankees and make the World Series and now they’re a Matt Cain start away from suffering the same fate.

So where did it all go wrong for the Tigers? Was it the long layover? Is it San Francisco’s pitching staff? Or maybe it’s the fact that Detroit was only an 88-win team in a Division with three 90+ loss team and that is finally catching up to them?

I believe they contracted ‘The Suck.’ A condition known by it’s more common name, Yankeeitis. It’s an illness that manifests when a good offense is shut down by good pitching performances.

All of those rowdy Tigers fans who were bashing the Yankees for not showing up in the ALCS are now watching their team suffer the same fate.

Forget, Yankeeitis, maybe it’s just poetic justice.
