Joel Sherman of the New York Post reported that the Yankees have scheduled a 10 a.m. press conference for Saturday in which Mariano Rivera will be announcing that he intends to retire after the 2013 season.
Yes, I know he’s 43-years-old and yes, I know he’s coming off a major knee surgery but this is Mariano Rivera. He is not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill baseball player. He is a deity and I don’t care how sacrilegious it sounds because it’s true.
