I think that’s a good idea. This weekend was just awful on so many levels. The horrific news out of Colorado has made me an emotional wreck. So much innocence lost and so many heroic tales of people losing their lives to save others. It makes me both proud and extremely heartbroken at the same time. And baseball when you think about it, is really not that important in the grand scheme of things.
Of course, when you’re having a bad weekend and your mind is all over the place, it would be nice if your favorite baseball team could help you out, provide some happiness and cheer you up. But ours didn’t.
Oh well. Things could be a lot worse.
So we’ll move on to the next series in Seattle. Hopefully the Yankee players can do the same thing because wow, Oakland was really annoying.
And I can’t even do a game recap because the only thing I saw was Crisp’s walk-off single. I walked into my house just in time for it. What a lovely coming home present that was!
I spent the afternoon in the Bronx visiting with my Grandmother at her nursing home, she’s 103 years old and awesome. Then I went out to dinner with my mom and her friend and the pizza place didn’t have the game on. I was trying to keep track of the game on Twitter but I didn’t want to be rude and have my phone out the whole time. So I can’t sit here, lie and pretend I know what actually happened.
Well, aside from the Yankees blowing a four run lead and losing another game by one run.
So let’s turn the page. Hopefully things will be better up in Seattle.
