Oh Whatever: Mariners 1 Yankees 0

How I feel right now

Okay, so complete games are only fun to watch when your team is the one on the winning end of them.

I don’t know about you but I was looking for a little payback today. Felix Hernandez is the one who put Alex Rodriguez on the DL. I was kind of hoping that would help the Yankees and lead them to victory.

It didn’t happen.

Instead, King Felix made the Yankees look foolish today. He held them to two hits – a double and a single – only walked two batters and struck out six.

I guess I should probably write a paragraph fawning all over the King like everyone else in New York Yankee blogger world seems to be doing this afternoon but I’m not going to.

Was his performance great this afternoon? Yes.

Am I happy for him? Not really.

I don’t particularly enjoy watching my favorite team baffled by opposing pitching. Especially when it’s the pitcher who inexplicably suffered from control issues in the last game he pitched – on July 24 – against my team and those issues resulted in A-Rod leaving Seattle with a cast on his hand.

So excuse me for not praising the King today. I’m not tipping my hat, I’m not clapping, I’m not doing anything. I’m mad my team lost.

Felix is one of the players I HATE having in the same division as the A’s. Every time the A’s face him I just assume they’re going to lose.
