CComplete Game: Yankees 6 Mariners 3

Here are two words that become something fantastic when paired together: complete and game.

Yes, a complete game.

We witnessed one of those tonight. After struggling in his last two starts CC Sabathia looked good tonight. Yes, he gave up two home runs but he only gave up three hits all night, struck out 10 batters and walked one in nine innings.

Not bad.

The Yankees scored in different ways tonight not just relying on the long ball though Eric Chavez did hit one. Come on. What kind of Yankee game would it be without a home run?

Chavez left the game injured. The ankle that was hit during the Boston series was acting up. Speaking of injuries, Mark Teixeira was back in the lineup – he finished 1-4.

Every Yankee starter had at least one hit tonight – they hit 12 overall. Robinson Cano and Derek Jeter both hit doubles.

The Yankees have won two in a row and are looking for number three tomorrow with Hiroki Kuroda facing off against Felix Hernandez. Hopefully Hernandez won’t have any control problems, Yankee fans don’t need any more of their players placed on the disabled list with broken bones…
