- I have no idea who will be in goal for the Blackhawks, since no one’s confirmed anything yet — but I wouldn’t be surprised if Corey Crawford was back between the pipes. Jimmy Howard has been confirmed as the goaltender for the Red Wings. (MLive.com)
- Injury Report: The Red Wings are without Ian White (lacerated leg), Carlo Colaiacovo (shoulder) and perhaps Jonathan Ericsson (shoulder). Howard is playing because backup goaltender Jonas Gustavsson is out with a groin injury. Meanwhile, for the Blackhawks, Daniel Carcillo will be out with a knee injury until late February. (NHL.com)
- Andrew Shaw is enjoying life as a third-line center. I’m just hoping he won’t be there for long. (Chicago Tribune)
