Warmups: Defeating One King Deserves Another

Oh-duya like his GWG from Friday against the King Henrik & the Rangers? Yes, yes we do. (Photo: the_mel/flickr)

The Blackhawks take on the Los Angeles Kings at 7pm CST on NBC Sports Network.

Tonight the giveaway is a Patrick Kane mouth guard… remember kids it’s to protect your teeth and not a chew toy. (Chicago Blackhawks)

Ray Emery will be in net for the Blackhawks. (@TramyersCSN)

Jonathan Quick will likely backstop the Kings though it is not confirmed. (Left Wing Lock)

Injury Report: Niklas Hjalmarsson returned to the lineup on Friday in the 4-3 win over the New York Rangers. Jonathan Toews is out for tonight but has his return slated for Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues. If he wants to take more time to recover though, I think that’d be okay. Like maybe a week from now against the Capitals? Michael Frolik returned to practice Saturday after missing the previous two with the flu. (Chicago Sun-Times)

A reminder that Duncan Keith‘s charity Keith Relief has Benefit Event & Concert on March 14th. A VIP ticket is just $250 and you’ll get to see Blackhawks as bartenders. This event sounds like all kind of awesome and all for a good cause! (DuncanKeith.com)

Warmups: California, Here We Come

I wonder if Kane will remind Carter & Richards about that one goal he scored in Philly... (Photo: Pete/flickr)

The Blackhawks are in California for a quick two game road trip starting tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. They do so without Jonathan Toews, Steve Montador or Niklas Hjalmarsson, who returned for one game, but is once again out; when any of them will return is unknown. Toews’ Tuesday car accident is unrelated to him not playing as he wasn’t injured in the minor crash.  (Chicago Sun-Times)

For the Kings tonight will mark the reunion of Mike Richards and Jeff Carter, a former infamous Flyers duo, following the trade for Carter which sent Jack Johnson and a conditional 1st round pick to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Richards and Carter will even get to play together on the same line along with Dwight King. (Los Angeles Times)

Corey Crawford will likely be in net for the Blackhawks, though not confirmed, while Jonathan Quick will be in net for the Kings. (Left Wing Lock & @curtiszupke)

In other Blackhawks news, Carter Hutton was signed to a one year contract yesterday and celebrated it with an IceHogs 3-2 win over the Chicago Wolves, including a goal from the newest IceHog, Matt Fornataro. (Blackhawks & Rockford Register Star)
