The last time the Chicago Blackhawks had a shutout was April 21, 2011 — a playoff win against the Vancouver Canucks. The last time they earned a shutout in the regular season? March 23, 2011 against the Florida Panthers.

Almost two years later, and here we are again: a nice, round zero in the Nashville Predators‘ goal column.

Of course, the Preds helped out, only getting seven shots on goal in the first two periods and 17 shots the entire game. The Blackhawks blocked almost as many shots — 14 — as Crawford saw.

I mean, there isn’t really much to say about this game other than it was very… efficient. The Blackhawks got the pucks in deep, took advantage of a tired opponent, and put the game away without much fuss in about 66 seconds. It was nice to see that sort of confidence from the team again.

Fun fact: this Marcus Kruger goal is the first even strength goal that Pekka Rinne had given up since January 28.
