Scouting Out Another Wonderfully Terrible Jersey

I’ve always wanted a jersey with a tie / Photo via Walleye Facebook

Fresh off last weekend’s Captain America jerseys, the Toledo Walleye today announced that on January 5, 2013 a new “special” jersey will be worn during their game vs. the Orlando Solar Bears.

The jerseys will be worn during one of five designated “Scout Experience” nights at the Huntington Center, meant to provide a night of fun for scouts of both the male and female persuasion. The jerseys will be auctioned off postgame. The only bone I have to pick with this promotion is that only one of the five scout nights are meant for Girl Scouts. Why separate the nights? And really, wouldn’t most prefer a special jersey honoring said Girl Scouts, with Thin Mints and Samosa emblems, complete with the little brown beanies worn over the players’ helmets? The former Brownie in me thinks so.

Sheesh, these jerseys are just awful. God, I love the ECHL.
