A LOT has happened since the NHL Lockout ended all around the NHL. Training Camps, trades, signings, re-assignments, etc. Let’s get you caught up with every move the Ducks have made, all in one place.
At Camp:
Line combos have Kyle Palmieri skating with Perry and Getzlaf, Nick Bonino (who has upgraded his jersey number to 13) hit the lottery and is paired with Teemu Selanne & Bobby Ryan. Saku Koivu has been centering Andrew Cogliano and Daniel Winnik. Other lines have been Beleskey – Smith-Pelly – Staubitz and Maroon – Holland – Etem.
TV Schedule:
Note: March 8th’s home game vs. Calgary Flames has had a time change from 7pm to 7:30pm puck drop.
All 48 games will be televised locally this season including Ducks Live Pre-Game and Post-Game coverage. 28 games will be on Fox Sports Prime Ticket, 14 will be on Fox Sports West, 5 air on KDOC, and 1 (Regular Season Finale vs. Phoenix) will be on NBCSN.
A special Ducks Live: Season Preview airs tonight on Prime Ticket at 10pm.
Signings
Ducks signed LW Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond (PL3 for short) to a one year two-way contract yesterday afternoon. He has already been assigned to AHL affiliate Norfolk Admirals to avoid having to put that overly hyphenated name on a jersey.
Update 8:30pm: The Ducks have signed RW Troy Bodie, LW Jay Rosehill, and D Ryan Parent to two way contracts — all of which have been playing for AHL affiliate Norfolk Admirals this season.
Assignments
Goaltender Viktor Fasth got assigned to the Norfolk Admirals with the intention of getting him some game action. Per Eric Stephens’ twitter (@icemancometh) the Ducks feel he will do better getting in some games over practicing. The Admirals host St. John’s on Friday and Saturday and it’s possible Fasth could play Friday for the Admirals and be in Vancouver on Saturday to backup Hiller.
Update 8:30pm: The Ducks have assigned Emerson Etem, Patrick Maroon, and Jeff Deslauriers to the Norfolk Admirals, and have assigned goaltender John Gibson to OHL Kitchener Rangers. Deslauriers needs to pass through waivers, but the Ducks want him in the minors because he hasn’t played for months.
Rikard Rakell and Sami Vatanen (foot injury) remain with the team so far. The Ducks need to make one more cut to get to 23 players before Saturday, it’s possible they cut two.
Call Ups
With the assignment of Fasth to the Admirals, the Ducks called up Goaltender Frederik Andersen who has been playing regularly for Norfolk with a 2.48 GAA. He is a possible backup option if the Ducks feel Fasth should remain in Norfolk for more games.
