Twitter Tuesday: Preseason Nears The End, MJD Still MIA

As we enter the last week of preseason, you can feel the excitement building for the upcoming season.

While the holdout still continues, it seems like fans are beginning to accept the possibility that Maurice Jones-Drew won’t be on the sidelines come week one.

Sure, the beloved running back may still be MIA, but that won’t stop fans from being #ALLIN for the 2012 season.

Jaguars Acquire Dwight Freeney?

This just in… The Jaguars trade the Colts for DE Dwight Freeney.

The Jaguars traded an draft pick, that is still undisclosed that this point, along with RB Rashad Jennings.

When you consider who Jacksonville traded to Indianapolis to acquire this talented defensive end, it seems like the Jaguars got the better end of the deal.

Wait a second here… This just seems almost too good to be true. So is it?

What a concidence that this “breaking news” came out on April Fools?

When I first got the text message from my brother today I just assumed it was his attempt to “prank” me on this lovely April 1st.

Then I read this post on Big Cat Country:

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been looking to add another defensive end to add opposite Jeremy Mincey after re-signing Mincey to a new deal in free agency. The team waited for the market to die down a bit before they jumped back in the pool. but according a very reliable Big Cat Country source, the Jaguars have traded an undisclosed draft pick and running back Rashad Jennings to the Indianapolis Colts for defensive end Dwight Freeney. Freeney will need to restructure his contract before the trade is completed, as he holds a pretty high salary for the 2012 NFL season.

Seems to me like Big Cat Country got the inside scoop on this deal or someone is trying to play an April fools joke on the Jags Nation.

Rashad Jennings got wind of this “trade” and then tweeted to his fans in Jacksonville & thanking them for the “love & support”. So is he in on this too? Or just playing along for fun?

What do you think? Did Christmas come early in Jacksonville or is this potentially the best prank in Jacksonville history?

Let me know what you think by tweeting me @RoarBlackNTeal.
