Once a Jaguar, Always a Jaguar

After a decade in the NFL, Marcus Stroud has announced his plans to retire. Not however, before he signs a one day contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars first round draft pick in 2001 made a major impact on the Jacksonville franchise.

After the Georgia alum was drafted by the Jaguars he spent seven years dominating the field in Jacksonville.  Marcus Stroud & teammate John Henderson were an unstoppable dynamic duo from 2002-2006.

Stroud ended his career in Jacksonville with 274 tackles and 22 sacks; along with being voted for the Pro Bowl as a starter in 2003, 2004 and 2005. In 2008 he was traded & played in Buffalo for 2 seasons, before he went to New England in 2010.

After being released by the Patriots & accepting his body just isn’t bouncing back the way it used to, he has decided to make one final trade, back to his home.

“That’s where I started my career, I consider Jacksonville like my second home,” Stroud said. “That’s where my quote unquote football family is based. That’s where I felt like I gained my notoriety. That’s where I’ve always been at heart. I was a Jaguar from Day 1, and I’ll be a Jaguar now.”

Stroud isn’t the first Jaguar to return to his roots; he joins Tony Boselli, Fred Taylor, Paul Spicer and Donovin Darius in the ‘Jaguars-for-Life-Club’.

News From The Jungle: You Mean There Is Jaguars News Not Related To Blackmon?

It’s been a long week for Jacksonville fans. Like we don’t take enough abuse from our fellow NFL fans as it is; Blackmon adding his DUI into the mix didn’t help.

If you aren’t a Jaguars fan you probably think that is the only thing that happened in Duval this week. However, that is entirely untrue.

It’s been a busy week for the Jaguars, outside of Blackmon’s DUI. Between the Jaguars caravan hitting the open roads to the announcement that Fred Taylor will be inducted into the Pride of the Jaguars; things were a little crazy at EverBank this week.

Here are the top news stories circulating in Jacksonville.

News From The Jungle: Straight From Duval

A few news stories are circling Duval this week as the Jaguars prepare for the draft.

Of course the continuous speculation of who the Jags will draft is in the mix but it appears Jacksonville is attempt to trade their first round pick.

Only time will tell.

Looks like Fred Taylor will be back in the spotlight when he announces the second & third draft pick for Jacksonville.

Apparently the franchise does practice what it preaches on putting family first, considering they are allowing Aaron Ross to travel to the Olympics to watch his wife.

Blaine Gabbert has a new hair do & is ready to go. Hopefully the hair cut will help improve his QB rating this season.

Enjoy this week’s edition of News from the Jungle.
