Sooners Basketball Preparing For Old Spice Classic On Thanksgiving
The 2-0 Oklahoma Sooners basketball team is headed to Orlando, Florida to participate in the Old Spice Classic Basketball Tournament. Teams participating in the tournament are of course, Oklahoma, West Virginia, Clemson, Gonzaga, UTEP, Vanderbilt, Marist and Davidson.
The Sooners are taking on UTEP first, playing on Thanksgiving night at 6:00 CST. They will either play Gonzaga or Clemson on Friday. They are scheduled to play 3 games in 4 days, which is much different than the recent first two regular season games they’ve played over the span of 6 days.
Senior Romero Osby on the short turnaround in time between games:
It’s an adjustment, but it’s something you have to love, getting the chance to play in a Thanksgiving tournament and just playing basketball, period,” senior Romero Osby said. “I think all the years of playing in AAU prepares you for this, playing a lot of games in a short period of time.
