Oklahoma Wants To Stripe The Stadium Saturday Night

In case you haven’t heard, the Oklahoma Sooners are planning on going big for the game Saturday night against Notre Dame. With ESPN’s College GameDay in attendance, they are asking for Sooner fans help.

They are “Striping the Stadium”, which if everyone participates, will look great. If your tickets are in an even number section, you are asked to wear crimson. Odd number sections are white. If you are a student or sitting in the student section, they are asked to wear crimson. If you are going to the game, you can check the seating chart here.

Every person who enters the stadium will also get a white rally towel to wave. They are pulling out all the stops to make this GameDay visit a memorable one.

The GameDay crew is already in Norman and has been invading the campus. Word is, they are setting up shop for Saturday’s show on the South Oval, with the gorgeous Bizzell Library as the backdrop.

I don’t know if I can contain myself until Saturday night. Let’s Strip The Stadium! Boomer Sooner!

Sooners Bye Week, And New ESPN Gameday Commercial

After week one, the Sooners are on hiatus this weekend. Coach Stoops has given the team the weekend off, deservedly so. After this week, the Sooners are rolling into Tallahassee, to take on Florida State in one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.

ESPN College Gameday will be live from Tallahassee on September 17th, as the match-up was picked for College Game of the Week. Speaking of Gameday, ESPN has released a new commercial featuring the Sooner Schooner…

In other Sooner news, I would like to give a Sooner Birthday shout out to the one and only: Robert Anthony Stoops. AKA Bob. He turns 51. Good to know that Bob will not be popping any blood vessels on his birthday weekend. I kid, Happy Birthday Coach Stoops.

If you want to catch some Big XII conference action this weekend, Missouri takes on Arizona State in a Friday night late kickoff (9:30 CST). The Battle of the CyHawk Trophy between Iowa and Iowa State kicks off at 11:00 AM CST Saturday, Texas takes on BYU in Austin and Kansas takes on Northern Illinois; both at 6:00 PM CST. Oklahoma State played Arizona Thursday night, which resulted in a beatdown of the Wildcats. Pokes QB, Brandon Weeden had amazing numbers and showed his worth in pre-Heisman talks.

Sooner Nation, enjoy the off weekend. Next weekend we will be popping the tums hoping we have gotten over our road game jitters.

Boomer.
