Another preseason Sooner tradition is this Saturday; Meet the Sooners day. This is the day that men hire the neighbors kids to stand in line with them for a chance to get up close and personal with Sooner players and coaches. I’m partially kidding, but the Sooners have made it a point to let the Sooner Kids Club have priority access to the coaches and players.
From SoonerSports.com: While OU appreciates the tremendous support offered by Sooners fans of all ages, in order to accommodate as many young fans as possible, Meet the Sooners Day will again be offered to children ages 14 and younger. Each child may be accompanied by a maximum of one adult, but adults will not be permitted to submit items for autographs.
You’d be surprised at the number of adults that act like children trying to get a signature. Actually, I’m sure you wouldn’t. But the Sooners have taken the right approach to Meet the Sooners day. You can view the full days schedule here.
Here’s to no injuries and no more bad news out of Norman for the next month. It’s football time.
