As I mentioned on Monday, the College Football preseason watch lists are making their debut this week. They are also slowly marking the end of the off-season, with the season starting in less than two months.
Tuesday was the renouncement of the Rimington Trophy and the Mackey Award watch lists. The John Mackey Award is given out each year to college football’s most outstanding tight end. There is obviously no Sooners on this list due to the fact that they have rarely been utilizing the TE position as of late.
However, a Sooner did land on the Rimington Trophy watch list. The Rimington is given out to the Nation’s most outstanding Center, so of course Ben Habern is on the list. Other Big XII nominees on the list include: B.J. Finney of Kansas State, James Fry of TCU and Joe Madsen of West Virginia. You can view the entire list here.
Wednesday brings the announcement of the Lou Groza and the Ray Guy Awards watch list.
