FIU In College GameDay

If you tune into ESPN College GameDay every Saturday like I do, you may have spotted something awesome. No, it was not Lee Corso’s hilarious headgear pick. (Love this one from this year.)

You may have spotted some awesome signs, but the best one goes to a dude in the Navy. His name is Josh.

And Your Homework Is…

I bet you never thought I’d give you homework, huh? Well, the teacher side of me has decided to do so. After FIU Football’s craptastic loss to ULL last Saturday, a lot of us felt frustrated. It was a game where the team under performed, especially in defense.

Lots of people have been talking about jumping ship already. Honestly, this is a time when the team needs our support the most. You know what they say, stay with them through thick and thin.

Sure, it is more fun to watch your team win. Of course, it stinks when your team is losing games they should win. You tend to be in panic mode. Believe me, I am a Marlins fan. I know the feeling.

I received a lengthy, yet very important email from one of my fellow FIU diehards, Alberto Padron. I read it, smiled, and couldn’t wait to pass it on.

FIU At The Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl: My Amazing Experience

I have only been to one bowl game (Orange Bowl 2011 – Virginia Tech vs Stanford) prior to the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl on Tuesday. I was devastated that I was not able to make it up to Detroit to cheer on FIU at the Little Ceaser’s Bowl last year. So I was super ecstatic when it was announced that the Panthers were going bowling in St. Petersburg. St. Pete is only about a 3 1/2 hour drive away from me. The whole experience was just amazing for me. Even though FIU did lose the game, that did not get me down. We were blessed with a wonderful season. Plus, I was surrounded by great people who I call my FIU Family.

Nelly Films Video At FIU Stadium Featuring Some Special Guests

I am sure most of you are watching bowl games tonight, right? Did anyone see what I saw? During dinner with my husband, Max, we were watching a Nelly video on ESPN. We both looked at each other when we noticed that Nelly had filmed his video at FIU Stadium. Awesome!

We found a short version featuring what seems like the FIU drumline on YouTube. Check it out.

Here is the longer version, which was shown on ESPN. It is a really neat video in general.

Isiah Thomas On “Dan LeBatard Is Highly Questionable”

Coach Isiah Thomas was on Dan LeBatard Is Highly Questionable earlier today. Dan (as usual) didn’t speak much about FIU, but did ask Coach Thomas some very interesting questions.

By the way, I like to watch Dan’s show just for “Papi”. He is your typical older Cuban parent. Love him! I crack up at the things he does.

Is it just me, or does Dan totally look like a chipmunk?

FIU Wins Against Troy in Overtime

FIU beat Troy 23-20 in what was arguably the most stressful game this season. Fumbles and silly penalties killed us tonight, but we came out with a win and that’s what counts. The game was won in overtime with a field goal from the 22-yard line from Jack Griffin. WR, Wayne Times, ended up #3 on ESPN Top 10 Plays for the night with an amazing 76 yard touchdown.

We Aren’t Crazy FIU Panthers! T.Y. Hilton Heisman Talk is For Real!

T.Y. Hilton greets fans after a home game in 2010.

Who would’ve thought 10 years ago that we would be talking about one of our guys possibly being a Heisman Trophy candidate? That possibly is here, folks. T.Y. Hilton has been brought up by ESPN, for example, as a Heisman candidate.

Check out the links below.

Let’s hope T.Y. keeps it up going beast mode so he can get more attention. Remember Panthers, turn the impossible to the inevitable.
