FIU Acts Like the Miami Dolphins In Loss To ASU

FIU suffered a terrible loss to Arkansas State Tuesday night in Jonesboro, but something good did happen.

WR T.Y. Hilton caught touchdown #22. He has tied the Sun Belt Conference and FIU records (Middle Tennessee’s Kerry Wright and FIU’s Corey McKinney). Hilton also has a FIU record of 200 receptions in his years as a Panther. Chandler Williams held the record before Hilton.

Now, the bad. The very bad. The Panthers defense was not able to stop ASU’s QB, Ryan Aplin, who pretty much owned them all game. FIU QB, Wesley Carroll, kept overthrowing the ball, completely missing his target. Hilton had some trouble with his knee. He left the game in the second quarter (luckily, he came back). Defense had its issues as well, letting an 88 yard drive down the field, which resulted in an ASU touchdown.

The game ended with a score of 34-16.

Disappointing loss, but it’s time to regroup and look forward. We are better than this. We have Troy coming next week, and we need to be ready for them!
