FIU beat Troy 23-20 in what was arguably the most stressful game this season. Fumbles and silly penalties killed us tonight, but we came out with a win and that’s what counts. The game was won in overtime with a field goal from the 22-yard line from Jack Griffin. WR, Wayne Times, ended up #3 on ESPN Top 10 Plays for the night with an amazing 76 yard touchdown.
FIU suffered a terrible loss to Arkansas State Tuesday night in Jonesboro, but something good did happen.

FIU lost another heartbreaker on Saturday against Duke 31-27. At 13:3 left in the fourth quarter, Wayne Times, scored a touchdown that had the Panthers in the lead 27-17. But then Duke answered with a touchdown by Juwan Thompson. That brought the score 27-24. Then, the fumble that pretty much sealed the game. QB, Wes Carroll was sacked, which forced a fumble. On the next play, Duke scored and took the lead over the Panthers.
However, this game had many positives off the field. This was the first time the Goodyear Blimp visited the stadium. There was a new attendance record announced (22,682). Cheer up, Panthers. We still have more games to play! We’re not going down without a fight!
FIU is visiting the Akron Zips on Saturday, October 8 at 2:00 PM Eastern.
