In tonight’s game between the Dallas Stars and the Boston Bruins, Daniel Paille laid a HUGE hit on Raymond Sawada and will most likely be suspended for the massive blindside hit. This is just one of the big hits that have raised concerns with fans players and NHL front office officials in recent months. With Penguins captain Sidney Crosby still not skating and Boston’s Marc Savard out with another concussion, people are starting to question Rule 48 and it’s effectiveness.
Many Bruins fans are outraged that Crosby seemed to only care about dangerous hits that he (and Savard) were victim of once he was on the wrong side of it. When Matt Cooke laid Savard out last year, Crosby was silent. What’s your opinion on rule 48, Paille’s hit, Crosby’s position, etc?
