Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers – March 2, 2012

Flashback: It’s 1997, I’m a year old, the Spice Girls have become the first female British group with a US number one debut single, Toshiba was introducing the DVD to Americans, and the Titanic is set to be released in December. This is also the year that marked a six-year span where the Stars and the Oilers were matched up in the playoffs six times. They played 33 games over this period, and the only time either club came away with the Cup was in 1999 when the Stars were the champions.

Today, the 15th-overall Dallas Stars visited the 29th-overall Edmonton Oilers for the third matchup of the season. This was the first game of the series to take place in Edmonton, with Dallas taking 4-1 victories in both of their home games.

I’m not going to say anything about home team winners tonight.
