Oilers Agree to Terms With Tambellini

This morning, the Oilers Twitter announced that Kevin Lowe and Steve Tambellini have reached an agreement on a new contract for the Oilers GM.

“Three years ago we asked Steve to begin a rebuild which we all know hasn’t been easy. However, Oilers fans can take some consolation in the fact that Steve and his staff have acquired some amazing talent which will most definitely be the cornerstone to future sustained success for the Edmonton Oilers.” Says Lowe.

Nail Yakupov in Edmonton

Nail Yakupov, an NHL prospect who played for the Sarnia Sting in the OHL last season and is ranked No. 1 by NHL Central Scouting, has arrived in Edmonton for a tour of the city and meetings with the Oilers management. He’ll have dinner with Oilers owner Daryl Katz and be interviewed countless times, no doubt.

 

Since the Edmonton Oilers have the first overall pick in the upcoming Draft (what’s that? You didn’t know?), and Yakupov is one of the few guys slated to be a first­-overall pick, it makes sense for him to get friendly with his possible future team.

Oilers: A Season in Review – Part Two

No line was safe when it was game time for the Edmonton Oilers this season. A roster riddled with injuries coupled with bouts of unsuccessful play lead to countless line changes and interactions with call-ups from the OKC Barons of the AHL. It’s more or less the case for every team in the NHL, sure, but it’s not actually my job to worry about them, so. Here’s more about the 2011-2012 season.
