Joakim Noah got by easily as he was only punished with a $15,000 fine for cursing out the referees and being ejected in the 3rd quarter of their previous game vs the Sacramento Kings. Noah was grateful and on his best behavior as he helped lead the Bulls to victory over the Phoenix Suns, 101-92. Besides going off like a loose cannon on the refs on Monday night, Noah has since been voted as an All-Star for the 2nd time. He’ll be the only player representing the Bulls in the East on the All-Star roster.
Noah contributed a double-double to help the Bulls get the victory over Phoenix who was currently on a 5-game winning streak. Noah had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 assists in 37 minutes of playing time. Boozer, who is currently not too happy about 4th quarter minutes, scored 19 points and 12 rebounds. It’s no secret that Thibodeau will chose Taj Gibson to play late 4th quarter minutes if the games are close because Boozer isn’t too keen on defense.
Jimmy Butler played better defense against the Suns as he finished with 18 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 44 minutes. DJ Augustin came off the bench again last night to score 18 points. The Chicago Bulls are back at .500 (24-24) and will be facing Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on Thursday on TNT. After Sunday with the face the LA Lakers, they’ll be finally back home from their West coast trip.
