Weekly B1G Recap In Random Gifs

A picture is worth 1000 words. It’s probably also the best way to sum up each game for each B1G team this week. The B1G had a mixed bag of success with some schools looking brilliant (OSU and Nebby) some pretty good (Ilinois and Purdue) and the rest kind of…well….

Minnesota 30, UNLV 27 – 3OT thriller that was almost 4 hours long and didn’t start until 11PM ET. So, maybe thriller is a bad descriptive word.

Michigan State 17, Boise State 14 – MSU had some bumps and underachieved, it’s true. But in the end they beat Boise and that’s something a lot of BCS Conference teams haven’t been able to do, as of late.

Ohio 24, Penn State 14 – Yes, Ohio. Not Ohio State. And yes, it was at Beaver Stadium. Though The Bobcats are probably a tad underrated, this is likely a glimpse into the future for Penn State.

Illinois 24, Western Michigan 7 – Good start for the Illini, though they also had a really good start last year and we all know how that ended. The cautious optimism is in full swing.

Ohio State 56, Miami, OH 10 – The Urban Meyer era began with an absolute decimation of Miami. While OSU probably should decimate Miami, many remember Toledo and the near blowing of it and are happy to see a blowout.

Northwestern 42, Syracuse 41 – Northwestern had a 22 point lead, then they didn’t, then they won by one. The swinging of the emotions were strong within this one.

Nebraska 49, Southern Mississippi 20 – Taylor Martinez looked sharp. He passed for 354 yards and 5 TDs. Who is that guy and what has he done with the real T-Magic?

Purdue 48, Eastern Kentucky 6 – Yes, EKU is an FCS team, Yes, I am fully aware that this doesn’t necessarily mean anything for the Boilermakers. But given what happened with other teams, they should be thrilled because they took care of business while others struggled.

Iowa 18, Northern Illinois 17 – Iowa was sleepwalking until about the 4th quarter. This is nothing new as Iowa has had countless comebacks in the past couple of years. They just know how to steal a victory at the last minute. But man, did the lines look bad…which is weird for Iowa.

Wisconsin 26, Northern Iowa 21 – The team predicted by many to run the B1G almost lost to an FCS team at home. I mean, it’s a GOOD FCS team, but I don’t think the B1G can handle another loss like the one Michigan took at the hands of Appy State.

Indiana 24, Indiana State 17 – I’m sure some people are snickering about how close this game was. And, yes, it was disappointing that a game between two schools in the same state had barely anyone in the stands. But you know what, Indiana at least won and avoided embarrassing the B1G.

Michigan 14, Alabama 41 – Yeah, uh, that didn’t go well. Whenever there was a slight glimmer of hope for the Wolverines, it was squashed like a bug. Watching another B1G team fail in a highly publicized game is, frankly, painful.
