Oh, Aggies. You’re starting your membership in the SEC off on the wrong foot already.

This video, uploaded by a user who goes by “LOLatA&M” has 54 likes, 677 dislikes, and a lot of comments about how stupid/bad/weird/unnecessary it is.

There are a number of problems with this video, people of Texas A&M. First of all, 3/4 of those kids look like they’d rather be anywhere but there, shaking a pompom that does not represent their team. I don’t blame them. That being said, thanks but no thanks, the rest of us don’t need your halfhearted support. You don’t really mean any of those cheers and you’re not fooling anyone.

I do sympathize especially with a few of those students, though. The poor girl who got stuck with UGA and had to bark, that’s just unfair. At least real Dawgs fans choose to look stupid like that. The guy who got stuck with the Mississippi State cowbell? His ears are probably still ringing. Again, at least MSU fans choose to do that to themselves, too. (What is it with you, Bulldogs people?) 

Then Boyd Loftin reminds us that now we’re going to be stuck hearing you guys yelling all the time. Ugh. Maybe you should start hanging with Bulldogs fans.

In short, Aggies, you struck out on this one. I can kind of appreciate the (forced) sentiment and that you want to fit in with the cool kids, but really, this is not an SEC-caliber production; it’s actually a bit embarrassing and obnoxious. Just worry about your on-field performances for now – and demote whoever thought this video was a good idea.
