Big XII In The NFL Draft – Round 1

The Cleveland Browns new 29 Year Old Rookie QB, Brandon Weeden

Dreams and trades were made all over the place last night in New York..

After what was no surprise in the First round of the NFL Draft last night with the Colts picking Andrew Luck at number 1, Heisman Trophy winner and Baylor Bear Robert Griffin III went number 2 to the Washington Redskins.

Though the Big XII didn’t show as well as the SEC (no conference did) they still had a great night with the 1st round picks. Three of those picks going in the top 10. After RG3 went to the Redskins, wide receiver Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State went at number five to Jacksonville. The number eight selection was Texas A&M QB Ryan Tannehill in an odd grab by the Miami Dolphins.

The Tennessee Titans picked up Baylor’s Kendal Wright at number 20, which was an excellent get for them and the Cleveland Browns drafted Brandon Weeden from Oklahoma State at number 22. Weeden is on his way to replace former Big XII/Longhorn Colt McCoy is what the rumor has been. Cleveland is showing signs of  trading McCoy for a better seat in Friday’s rounds.

After all the trading and excitement last night, you may as well burn your mock drafts. Good Luck to the Big XII hopefuls possibly going in Rounds 2 and 3 Friday night.

Word on the street is the Oklahoma State QB, Brandon Weeden has been extremely impressive and has caught the eye of several scouts this week.

It may not count for anything, but at least it’s college football, back on our televisions. If even for one day, it’s worth it.
