After they both won convincingly on Saturday night, Notre Dame and Alabama have retained the top two spots in both the BCS standings and the AP Poll. Six of the top 10 teams in the BCS and five of the top 10 in the AP Poll are from the SEC, as has been the case for weeks now. In the BCS standings the top nine teams remain the same. Kent State had the biggest gain of the week, moving from No. 23 to No. 17, while Florida State and Clemson had the biggest drops of the week, both falling three places, from Nos. 10 and 11 to Nos. 13 and 14, respectively. Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Utah State, and San Jose State (at Nos. 21, 22, 24, and 25, respectively) all entered the BCS Top 25 this week. In the AP Poll, Kent State, Northern Illinois, and Utah State had the biggest gains of the week, all moving up five spots (from Nos. 23-25 to 18-20, respectively), while Texas fell five places, from No. 18 to No. 23. Northwestern and Boise State both entered the Top 25 this week (at Nos. 22 and 25, respectively), while Louisville, Rutgers, and Mississippi State (previously Nos. 19, 21, and 25, respectively) dropped out.
