Tigers Win One and Lose One

Tuesday and Wednesday night the Detroit Tigers took on the Chicago Cubs.  Due to technical difficulties, Motown Lowdown was unable to get you updated on the games.  Here is a quick update.

Tuesday night the Cubs beat the Tigers 4-3 with Max Scherzer on the mound.

Last night Rick Porcello took the mound and went five innings with four earned runs, five strikeouts and nine hits.  Luckily this was enough to beat Matt Garza, who in the off-season was rumored to be coming to Detroit.

Brennan Boesch stayed hot, going 4-5, with two runs scored and two RBI’s.  Jhonny Peralta went 3-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored.

This afternoon at 2:10 Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers take on the Chicago Cubs for one last game in Wrigleyville.

I’ll be crossing my fingers that Verlander gets his first hit of his career and the Tigers can take the series from the Chicago Cubs.
