Tigers Rookie of the Year

Tigers need to hold onto Berry for his speed and enthusiasm.

Quintin Berry beat out some of the Detroit Tigers phenomenal rookies this year to win the team’s Rookie of the Year honors.

Whether he carried the rookie’s backpack the best with the most grace is undetermined.

27-year-old Berry, whose birthday is tomorrow, grew up in San Diego California and brought the Detroit Tigers a much needed spark this season.

In early May Berry was added to the 25-man roster and made his debut the same day.

Berry was replacing the injured Austin Jackson and received his first MLB hit with a bunt double.

Berry became the first Detroit Tigers player since 1918 to hit safely in his first six games as a Tiger.

Hopefully Berry will be on the 25-man roster next season with the outfield ever changing for the Detroit Tigers with the addition of Torii Hunter.
