Baseball is the only sport where the opponent is wearing a flexible head covering.  Some people call these caps, other hats, but regardless they are highly scrutinized.

Baseball hats give normal citizens the opportunity to look the part without ever touching a baseball and has become a multi billion dollar industry now that all sports teams want their logo on a cap.

Because appearance is one of the number one qualities that the United States considers when talking sports, MLB players change their hats throughout preparing for a game day.
