There were no sparks last night, but Alex Avila left the game with a cut above his nose.

The Detroit Tigers pick up the final game in Boston.  Prince Fielder hit a triple, Quintin Berry went 3 for 5, and Alex Avila got hit in the mask by a foul ball yet again.

The Tigers would win 7-3 to get Max Scherzer his fifth win.  Scherzer went seven innings with six strikeouts, seven hits and he gave up one home run.

The entire Tigers lineup hit the ball at least once except for Jhonny Peralta and Brennan Boesch.
