How many sponsors can you count in this picture of Ricky Stenhouse in Victory Lane?
Someone somewhere decided that it would be a fantastic idea to run the NASCAR Nationwide race on Friday the 13th under the lights at Texas Motor Speedway. What could possibly go wrong?
Did anyone bet on the lights?
The lights in Turn 3 tried to be the star of the show tonight at Texas Motor Speedway. We had a caution earlier in the race because those lights went out. Track officials felt that the lights were overheating. So, what was their solution? Send a track worker over to the panel to waive some cardboard as fan to cool it off.
Millions of dollars in technology and we use an old cardboard box. I cannot make this stuff up. Redneck ingenuity at its finest, folks.

Thankfully Paul and his awesome sideboards nor Regan Smith were injured on Wednesday.
Okay, so I thought the whole Will Power engine fire under the hood deal was weird. I was wrong.
It gets much better. I don’t know what the hell is going on in the world of racing with all this weirdness floating around.
We have another weird occurrence in NASCAR courtesy of the Associated Press this morning.
Come to find out my honey Paul Menard (who our readers know I worship) was involved in an non-racing related car accident on Wednesday with fellow driver Regan Smith in Evergreen, Colorado.

Where else can you win a checkered flag, a trophy, and a lobster?
Did you hear that screaming and cheering earlier this evening? That was our very own Morgann Spicer cheering her driver, Tony Stewart, to his second victory in just as many races. Was this really the guy that just a few weeks ago said they didn’t deserve to make the Chase? This is the drama that NASCAR was looking for when they created the Chase.
Somewhere, Mike Helton is twisting his moustache and giggling with menacing glee.
Every sport loves their “Cinderella” story and it seems that Tony Stewart is finding his glass slipper. Remember this race last year? Tony was leading the race when he ran out of fuel giving Clint Bowyer the win. This year? The race finished with the mirror image of that. Clint Bowyer was leading with just 2 laps to glory when he ran out of fuel giving Smoke the back to back Chase wins.
I don’t think that anyone, except Morgann, would have predicted Smoke to be the belle of the ball after just two races. Cue the bandwagon jumpers.

Read it and weep, Paul Menard haters of the world. Yes, I know there's a spelling error. Thanks, language police.
I need to vent for a few minutes because nobody listens to me on Twitter. It seems that whenever I seem to voice my opinion on a particular driver I always seem to offend a very sensitive fan base somehow.
This weekend, people have offended me (and I’m sure Paul is offended as well) by scrutinizing one of my favorite drivers and now it’s time for me to voice my opinion and call out the haters of the NASCAR world as I defend Paul Menard.
All the Paul Menard haters in this wide world can kiss my butt. He’s an amazing driver. Need proof? You should have read our Spotlight about three months ago.
Stupid NASCAR fans on Twitter have been pissing me off this week because all I’m reading and seeing are phrases like “Paul Menard” and “cheater” and “gave Harvick the win” and so on.
Join me and listen to me for a few seconds as I clear the air on why one of my favorite drivers isn’t a cheating scoundrel like NASCAR nation seems to have him pinned out to be this week.

What's the running theme for this weekend's Sprint Cup race at Richmond? You got it. Complete and utter chaos.
This is it, Race Fans. The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series heads to Richmond International Raceway for the final race to qualify for the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Eight drivers have clinched their spot in the Chase- Jimmie Johnson, Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Matt Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, and Ryan Newman.
Brad Keselowski has achieved one of the two Wild Card spots into the chase with his 3 wins. Three spots in the Chase remain and 14 drivers are still mathematically eligible to qualify.
Hold on to your hats, fans. This race is gonna be a good one.

Yeah, it was a pretty evening for the most part at tonight's Sprint Cup Irwin Tools Night Race. (photo credit: Tom Pennington)
So do any of you remember a driver by the name of Brad Keselowski that we mentioned a few weeks ago about how awesome he was by winning a NASCAR race on a broken ankle? Yeah, guess what: he did it AGAIN tonight on the world’s loudest half-mile oval.
That’s right, kids. Brad Keselowski, once again, defied all logic and walked (or should I say limped) away with the checkers tonight at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Irwin Tools Night Race.
On a broken ankle, yet again, Brad led 89 of 500 laps and notched his third win of the 2011 season.
Believe it or not for a hot, summer night Bristol was rather cool. Tempers really didn’t flare and everybody seemed to walk away happy but it was Brad and his amazing cankle that took center stage.
But this evening wouldn’t be complete without some “oopies” and “duhs” that we must address in the form of a semi-snarky rant. Join me.

That's right, big guy. It's your birthday and it's race day at Michigan. Party on, Paul Menard! (photo credit: John Harrelson)
Yay, so I finally get to celebrate the birthday of one of my favorite drivers this month! Sweetness!
And who are we celebrating today, you ask? None other than the 2011 Brickyard 400 winner Paul Menard who turns 31 on this glorious race day at Michigan!
Happy Birthday, Paul! From a very adoring, borderline crazy fan of yours.

Yeah, after Sunday and Monday's racing drama this is how I feel. Welcome to dead news Tuesday.
Okay, so it’s literally dead news Tuesday in IndyCar and NASCAR today. That’s awesome considering we like to cover the news on Tuesdays. Great.
So think of today as the day when the entire racing world is recovering from a really bad hangover after a weekend of partying our faces off. Oh wait, we already do that. Never mind. I think race fans deserve a day of nothingness after Sunday’s IndyCar drama and yesterday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup drama.
Guess what: I’m mixing it up a little bit today (mainly because I can and nobody can stop me) and so we’re going to go on a journey through NASCAR and IndyCar and let you know who my favorite drivers are from week to week and over the years.
We’ve had the website up and running since May and we’ve never really told you who we pull for from week to week (although judging by our tweets you can probably take a pretty good guess of who we do and don’t like) so today is a perfect opportunity to show you and bring you into my demented world for a day.
Join me, won’t you? The drivers you see on my list might surprise you.

Paul Menard being congratulated by his father for his first career win.
Daytona 500 winner: Trevor Bayne
Southern 500 winner: Regan Smith
Coca-Cola 600 winner: David Ragan
Brickyard 400 winner: Paul Menard
The races listed above are considered the biggest races of the NASCAR Sprint Cup season. The names you expect to see listed as winners of the three Crown Jewels and the Brickyard are Johnson, Gordon, Stewart, Edwards, Busch, and Kenseth. How could we have possibly dreamed that the biggest races of the year would be first time wins for drivers?

Ladies, meet Matt Crafton. He's the most recent winner in the NCWTS with Saturday's victory at Iowa Speedway. (photo courtesy of www.nascar.com)
Okay so I’m super excited about this week’s driver, Matt Crafton. Why, you ask? Ummm, because he looks like my favorite actor on the entire planet and that makes me really happy to feature him this week in our driver spotlight. Oh yeah, and he won the NCWTS race this past weekend at Iowa for his second career victory.Â
Do you notice the similarities between this week’s driver and last week’s driver Paul Menard? You should because Matt pilots the #88 Menards Chevy Silverado for ThorSport Racing in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Can you guess who my favorite actor is and who Matt looks like? You’ll have to continue reading to find out. Let’s dive in and get to know Matt Crafton is and what makes him tick!
