Players and Noses Going All Over the Place, Oh My!

A lot has happened in the past 24 hours! The Leafs shut out the Carolina Hurricanes (breakdown pending, work is a cruel mistress), players have been shifted around to other teams, and players have been hurt (understatement).

To start things off, James Reimer earned his first NHL shut out of his career, keeping the Hurricanes at bay, 3-0. Darryl Boyce, a goal-scorer in the game hit his nose against the photographer’s hole on the boards, caused “cuts” to the face. As of this afternoon, Boyce posted pictures on his twitter of his injury to his nose. You can see them here, but I would advise you not to click if you have a weak stomach.

In other news, the Marlies’ Jerry D’Amigo has been loaned to the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL. It is not known for how long, probably the rest of the season. Goaltender Jonas Gustavsson has also been loaned, but to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL. He is being loaned to the Marlies for two weeks for a conditioning stint. This will give him two weeks out of the blinding spotlight to perfect his game, and hopefully come back a better goalie than before. Here’s hoping.
