The Mild-Mannered Monster
Wha?
After the past few weeks of fireworks on and off the track, I fully expected the Monster to rear his ugly head and tear up 42 cars this weekend.
But instead of mayhem, we got one of the calmest races I have seen at Dover in a long time.
The pre-race driver’s meeting must have been a place of hugs, healing, milk and cookies, and Kumbaya.  The drivers took to the track and raced clean. No one bumped and shoved, fought for the same real estate, or hooked anyone into the wall.
It was a shock. But a welcome one.
