Taylor University has a pretty good basketball team. They have a better week-before-finals tradition.
In honor of their annual “Silent Night” game, a Christmas carol:
Silent night, Friday night!
All is calm, eyes are wide
Round the hardwood they pack ‘em inside
Counting down until they can go wild.
Soon there will be no more peace,
Soon there will be no more peace.
Silent night, we’re at point nine!
Casey Coons, at the stripe.
Twice before he’s been the one
With the chance to kick-start the fun.
Costume-clad Trojans erupt,
Costume-clad Trojans erupt.
Silent night, dance party night!
Passed ten points, now it’s time.
Keep the visitors off of their game,
Chasing banana man right down the lane.
Wild and wacky timeouts,
Wild and wacky timeouts!
Silent night, helpful insight
Shoeless Paul lends some light.
Kids in need of shoes far and wide
Find sweet solace in “Samaritain’s” site.
Students join hands and sing,
Students join hands and sing.
Silent night, holy night!
Christmas cheer, fans delight
Come together ‘fore finals begin
Celebrating a big Trojan win.
Taylor traditions galore,
Taylor traditions galore!
See the spectacle for yourself.
Kudos to TU for having one of the coolest college traditions I’ve ever seen!
