Today the CHL announced that Allen forward Kale Kerbashian will be suspended 3 games for the Spearing incident Saturday. In response, Allen has signed veteran forward Todd Robinson previously of the Evansville Icemen (ECHL).
Todd has been around awhile and has gained valuable experience in both a player role as well as a part time coach in the 09-10 season with the IHL’s Muskegon Lumberjacks. Born in 1978, Todd began his career in the WHL with the Portland Winterhawks. He even was on the Canadian National Team. He’s played virtually in every league from the UHL to Europe as well as a few stops in the AHL. Looking at his stats, Todd is a distributor who racks up assists with ease and pops in a few on his own also. While not a huge player, he has no issues with grinding along the boards for the puck. I’d like to see him stick around and hopefully get a chance to get his views on coming here and what his role may be in the playoffs. In his first game he racked up a goal an assist and 2 PIMS. Not a bad start at all.
The Americans play their next to last home game tomorrow night against Wichita at 7:05pm
