Toby Petersen came onto the Dallas scene in the free agency period prior to the 2007-2008 season since has been a very reliable and servicable 4th line center. In his five seasons as a Dallas Star Petersen set his career high in goals (9) in the 2009-2010 season. The past two seasons have been rough for Toby as combined Toby Petersen has played less than 100 games and is often a healthy scratch including a very long period of time this season where he went from February 26th to March 31st without a minute of ice time.

Toby Petersen is a productive fourth line center who would fit well on any team even in his short time this season Petersen still managed five points and forty-four shots on goal. In the midst of the upcoming youth movement in Dallas, Toby Petersen has probably seen a end to his time here.
