1St:

After three goals from the Blaze in the first eight minutes of the game (Trudeau, Lindberg, and Gilbert) the Americans were instantly put into catch up mode. And with Aaron coming in for Steve Silverthorn, the Americans got a little bit of breathing room with a 5-on-3 power play that Tyler Ludwig was able to covert on to make the score 3-1 at the end of the period

2nd:

Starting the period with a carryover power play the Americans were unable to make the gap between the score smaller. And the distance only became larger as Matthew Larke made the score 4-1 at 16:25 in the second period. Not to worry though the Americans were able to make a little bounce back and make it 4-2 only two and a half minutes later with a goal from Jamie Schaafsma (Assists to Pineault and Tyler Ludwig).  So with only 52 seconds left in the second the Americans swap out Aaron Dell for Steve Silvedrthorn.

3rd:

With yet another goalie change at the beginning of the third. Aaron Dell was back in net as the Americans fought their way to the win. And with goals from Brett Skinner and Jamie Schaafsma (his second of the night) the Americans had the game tied with only 4:41 left in the third.

SOG: 18-8 Allen

OT:

With a lot of great chances in overtime, including a power play for the Allen Americans it wasn’t enough and we were going to need a shootout to decide who got the extra point.
