Jimmy Butler contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals in 46 minutes. Butler also played good lock-down defense on Joe Johnson, who shot only 4-14 from the field. Butler and Johnson got into a little tiff, but Butler responded with his play and didn’t allow Joe to find his rhythm on offense. Taj Gibson came off the bench due to Carlos Boozer returning and had 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists. Taj has really held his own as he started in the place of Boozer and he’s also increasing his value. Like Noah, Boozer also had a double-double in his return. In 28 minutes, Boozer had 15 points and 10 rebounds.
This was a good win for the Chicago Bulls as they could’ve easily been distracted by this upcoming weekend. But, despite turnovers and a little bit of foul trouble, the Bulls had a solid win. They outrebounded the Brooklyn Nets 45-27 and had better ball movement with 26 assists to the Nets’ only 12 assists.
Joakim Noah will be representing the Chicago Bulls as a reserve. He may not be flashy like other All-Stars, but everyone knows that you can count on Noah to give his all when he’s on the court. After this weekend, the Bulls will face the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday at 7pm ET.
