Saints tight end Jimmy Graham was named NFC Offensive Player of the Month by the NFL. That’s enough to make a Saints fan smile. But, it gets better.
Graham is the first tight end to receive the monthly honor from either the AFC or NFC ever. (Well, since 1986 when the NFL started the award…) And it’s well deserved. Graham finished the month of September with 458 yards and six touchdowns.
Graham and the rest of the Saints will be heading to Chicago a day early in an effort to avoid Tropical Storm Karen. The team will be wheels up on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday as originally planned. Tropical Storm Karen is expected to make landfall along the Gulf Coast on Saturday, and the Saints want to avoid any weather-related travel hassles.
