There really isn’t a lot that can shock those in Flyers land during the offseason. We have heard and seen it all from crazy trade rumors to those said rumors actually coming through.
None of us saw this coming, however. Rob Zombie is writing, directing and producing a movie about the Broad Street Bullies.
That’s right.
The Rob Zombie who spent most of the 80s and 90s singing about Satan turned to movie making about a decade ago, his most recent and popular project was the remaking of Halloween.
The iconic Broad Street Bullies of the 1970s were known for their intimidating and frankly, violent style of play, something that seems to fit Zombie’s style perfectly.
“Each character involved is more outrageous than the next,” Zombie told the deadline.com. “The backdrop of the turbulent year of 1974 is perfect for this ‘stranger than fiction’ sports tale.”
Filming is said to be starting soon.
