We all have Olympic fever right now. Admit it – you find yourself watching sports you only watch once every four years. (Water polo anyone?) Well hockey players are just like us. Between preparing for next season (whenever it may be), attending CBA negotiating sessions or getting married (anyone noticed how many hockey players got married this year?), the boys are also watching the Olympics.
How do I know? They tweet about it of course!
First we have Tyler Seguin who decided to congratulate a member of the “Fab Five”
Raisman is actually a huge Bruins fan so I’m pretty sure this tweet made her day even better than it already was.
Then you have the Rangers’ Stu Bickel, who gave everyone a good laugh with this tweet:
Too funny. The mental image on the other hand? Yeah, sorry about that.
Next up we have Canadian and Maple Leafs’ forward Joffrey Lupul:
So many jokes come to mind but I’m going to resist
But the one who has tweeted the most? The Blue Jackets own Jack Johnson. Johnson has not be shy in admitting how proud he was to represent the US two years ago. (His twitter background at the moment is him in his team USA jersey.) For the past week, when he isn’t helping his teammates gain followers, he’s been tweeting how proud he is of the US Olympians.
Think we know who he’s rooting for.
Got to love modern technology!
Now he’s watching THREE sports at once? I can continue on with the tweets from Jack but there’s way too many to choose from since his timeline has been full of them. Instead, I suggest if you aren’t already, following him on twitter at JackJohnson3.
In fact, you should be following all the players on twitter. Not sure what your favorite players’ handle is? We got you covered right here. (Shameless plug, I’ll admit it.) You can also follow all the Olympics action on Aerys over at our Olympics site, Going For The Gold.
